Cloud API file access: scope tokens, logs, and retention
File APIs need more than a valid token. Connect identity to object permissions, constrain download links, keep useful logs, and define what deletion means.

A developer file workflow should explain who acts, which object is involved, and how success is recognized. Start with a small manual transfer before adding scheduling, queues, or a conversational interface. Record the source, destination, account, and accepted result. This collection helps turn that known procedure into an application or service another operator can understand.
Use the CLI and self-hosting guide to plan execution environments, operator responsibilities, and recovery. Read the cloud API guide when files become objects manipulated through requests. Keep network reachability, credentials, and object permissions as separate review items. Trace intermediate artifacts and references so a failed processing step does not leave unexplained copies behind.
Test the failure cases that can change the result: an unavailable destination, a repeated request, expired access, or an interrupted write. Keep diagnostics useful without copying confidential contents into routine logs. Preserve a clear rollback or recovery target and version the operating notes alongside the implementation. The final handoff should identify the actual configuration and evidence that the intended behavior works.
